 I agree, that patch patchwork is a bit chaotic.

 For the next big patch I'll set-up a repo somewhere, that'll include the
 logging.

 For the moment:
 the attached, three patches take up the suggestions from your comment.
 0001 for whitespace and formatting
 0002 for java sources
 0003 for config files

 Hope this makes the changes more readable.
