 Okay, the "correspond changes to the other modules" are in my branch
 [fix/9199-extra-logging-changes

 -extra-logging-changes], which is based off of feature/9199-improved-
 logging-2-r2 (the branch linked to in the last comment).

 To fully test the new logger, you probably want this changes, since it
 pulls in the refactored logger into the other modules.
