Comment:

 Yes, I also understand where you are coming from, but given the options we
 have, what we are doing now is OK because the alternatives are hack-ish
 because GPG does not help us with this. Of course this is not a hard-and-
 fast rule, and if things change, we will revisit this ticket and pick on
 the patch we have.
