Comment:

 There's a fix for this on maint-0.2.3 in my bug5595 branch; it'll need a
 squash and porting-forward to maint-0.2.4 and master, and more testing.
 So far it hasn't exploded or done anything weird in early testing in
 client and middle relay configurations.
