Comment:

 proper has answered most of the points raised, but just to add to that:

 > There is however an option in Enigmail "always confirm before sending"
 which asks you before every mail if you want to send it encrypted or not.

 You can do this in 0.1.1 by going to TorBirdy preferences, Enigmail
 Settings and select "Confirm before sending email if Enigmail is enabled".
