 Thnx for solution and really appreciate your help.

  I downloaded newest ver. and re-installed Tor after upgrading Firefox.
 Tor is working properly for now.  I did notice, however, that the changes
 I made to network settings in Vidalia's control panel were not correctly
 recorded in the torrc config file.  So, I'll wait to see if Tor works on
 re-boott.
