 Unfortunately I do not know how to code JavaScript and Firefox Addons.  I
 suspect the bug roots somewhere in

 https://gitweb.torproject.org/torbutton.git/blob/HEAD:/src/chrome/content/torbutton.js

 but I am not sure.

 I am pretty sure this one is easy to fix for the one who coded this magic
 ;)
