 As someone who was on the receiving end of a duplicate of this bug (see
 #7303), I can confirm that your patch works so far (I couldn't even start
 tor before as the above error kicked in even before tor was able to
 retrieve its consensus). I have applied your patch against the newly-
 released .6-alpha.

 If there are any further issues, I'll report them here.
