 Hm.  This could probably go on 0.2.2.x -- at least, the non-extended
 version could.  Whether or not if you can't trigger the bug there, the
 extended check is probably wise.  I think I also want to add a few more
 checks to make sure that the referential integrity checks work out how we
 want.  See branch "bug1776_one_more_time" in my public repository for
 merge into 0.2.2 and later.

 The original reporter has said that the extended fixes are wrong, since
 they could prevent downloading the correct descriptors entirely.  I also
 have worries about their anonymity properties: it seems to leak a little
 information, via what you aren't fetching, about what you have as your
 bridges.
