 Yes, the idea is dumb. SETI is perfectly happy to be interrupted for a
 while and can resume processing whenever it wants. Nobody relies on a SETI
 node to be up any specific point in time, the only important result is
 that eventually, a computation is completed. Tor, on the other hand, can't
 deal with broken circuits as easily, as the streams they transported might
 not be resumable etc.

 Tor doesn't work that way.
