 It does indeed look nice!  Atlas [http://atlas.torproject.org/#about
 claims] to use it, too: "Datatables for visualizing data in tabular form
 with custom filtering."

 I don't fully understand that part about making new requests each time we
 sort.  Are you not sure how to make datatables locally cache data, or do
 you think about the case where Compass cannot/shouldn't download all data
 matching a given request?  For example, Atlas does local filtering
 (probably using datatables, too; haven't looked), but only works for the
 top 40 hits of a search.

 It would be neat if an improvement in displaying tabular data in Compass
 would move us closer to merging Atlas and Compass in the long run.
