Comment:

 Technically on Linux this is already possible if you untar (unzip in
 windows parlance) the new bundle over the existing one.

 We intend for thandy to do this for Windows and MacOS. Sadly, it may be a
 couple months before we get there :/

 I'm moving this to thandy and leaving it open. If anyone actually pays
 attention to the Thandy bugs, they can close it ;)
