 Jeroen's sent in a new version of his patch.  I've uploaded it to my
 public repository as branch "jeroen-ipv6".

 I haven't had a chance to review it closely yet.  First step is going to
 be splitting it up into logically separate units: a 4.7kline patch  on its
 own is really hard to figure out.
