 from now on)

 When this piece of code is useless (because it works without the code),
 the ticket should be treated as "fixed" or "implemented" shouldn't it?

 At least it should not be open.

 I'm not a dev, can't read code. I don't know if it could lead to side
 effects.

 The only thing I can think of is: Something that's injecting a DLL (even
 legit) into all running processes. Would that be a use-case for the above
 code?
