 I don't object to something like patch 01 going into 0.2.2 if the patch
 isn't too complex. I believe nobody is working on it other than anonym
 with his initial patch and now nickm.

 If it's complex, I think it can wait for 0.2.3.x, where it looks easier.

 "Earlier than suggested" is just plain not enough information to let
 anybody know what the function and variable do.

 I believe patches 02 through 05 are moot now.
