 > There has been some activity on the upstream bug recently: a long-time
 Pidgin contributor reopened the bug and stated s/he intended to look at it
 and "bang out some kind of temporary fix".

 It's not fixed yet.  We should stop shipping Pidgin's XMPP plugin, if not
 Pidgin or TIMBB, until this bug is actually fixed (and the fix is reviewed
 by someone we trust).

 #1325 is also relevant to a discussion of whether or not to continue
 shipping Pidgin and/or TIMBB.
