Comment:

Upon further testing I found that this "bug" report is not correct. The
problem was due to my having not validated the website
"https://maps.google.com/" when it presented an invalid security
certificate at some point in the past. I found this because, after
disabling and re-enabling the Https-Everywhere addon, I once again visited
the maps site, and it presented the validation warning anew. My using the
addon to visit the site indirectly was taking me to the https version of
the site, which I must have declined in the past, telling Firefox not to
access it. Now I have accepted the invalid certificate and I can access
the site, even though I have re-enabled Https-Everywhere. I am consoled
to know that Firefox correctly averts access as instructed, but I also
think it might be helpful to have an option to be advised when this occurs
each time so that I can be aware of the cause.
