Comment:

 I agree that the mix of toggling and popup hotkeys is kinda clunky... and
 that the whole hotkey interface is pretty unpleasant too for that matter.
 A menu is currently in arm's TODO [1] and ideas on the Tor volunteer page
 [2], so if we're lucky we might get a GSoC student willing to take this
 up.

 The events input is a special case in that I *wanted* users to be able
 type a short string for the events they want (say, "bI" for BW plus INFO-
 ERR events). This is an easy, quick method for switching between any
 arbitrary combination of events and is faaaaar better than needing to
 toggle event types individually in a menu.

 I'm gonna resolve this since there's already a plan to do a menu in a
 couple places. Cheers! -Damian
