Comment:

 I can confirm that if you specify an invalid proxy (I tried a random
 IP+port) in Vidalia's settings, Tor seems to happily bypass it and connect
 directly as if nothing was wrong. I didn't even see any log lines at
 notice or above complaining.

 This seems pretty darn bad, but not critical.
