Comment:

 Running on the 58d1aa44023e branch seems to trigger it.

 And running on the eaa3a379f0ba seems to not trigger it.

 And running on 7920ea55b8d9 seems to trigger it.

 The 7920ea55b8d9 commit looks like it's touching the right sort of things
 to be relevant to our bug.

 Nicing my Tor process makes it much more friendly -- I then have some idle
 time on my cpu.
