 Okay, there were at least 5 bugs here. :p  I think I have them all fixed
 now, as of  fbacbf9fd92a7 and a9172c87beaf9. At least, the relays on my
 test network now manage to build circuits with the offending openssl
 versions, which is pretty nice of them.  Fixing that, though, turned up
 some other bugs too.

 Note that you will need Libevent 2.0.8-rc, which will be released within a
 week--I hope!  You can also use Libevent git master, 34d64f8a347147aa or
 later.
