 I'm on dial-up and after a few good compressed bursts the automatic scaler
 gets ridiculously large values, so that the actual typical bandwidth use
 is less obvious (less contrasty).  On the settings give a choice of
 various connection speeds from 28.8kbps on up, plus a "custom" setting.
