 If it's doable, I think we should try to support them for the long term.

 The failure mode is really bad: you get no update suggestion, and you are
 told that your Tor Browser is up-to-date.

 Especially since some people use Tor Browser as a backup "when the
 censorship happens", we should expect that reasonable people have a
 version of Tor Browser from some years ago.
