 additional bug that is causing this or could that somehow be a result of
 Tor Browser breaking the entity resolution? If so, how can I reproduce
 this?

 That bug is temporary: it goes away when restarting the browser. I think
 the correct way to reproduce this is to start with a stock 7.0.6 and
 7.5a5, go to `about:addons`, and then click on the gear icon and choose
 `Check for updates`, you will then experience the bug that was described.
