Okay, this works for me (as in: `make prep-nightly` does not break
anymore) and is applied to `master` and `hardened-builds` (commit
3cf7b5af18a4fa0ad0813c0e16148dc1e578c04a and
96836418e9686ea775759bbe15c39cbc3855969d).
