Comment:

 #16484 is a duplicate.

 When clearing with Clear All History, and Clear Browsing & Download
 History checkbox is selected, browser Console shows this:

 JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data
 DirectoryLinksProvider.jsm:282:0
 }}}
 and after some seconds shows mentioned exception.
