I want to agree. I'm also using GeoLite2 for the comparison to the new
database, and continuing with MaxMind at least for Onionoo would solve a
bunch of problems. I'll take a look into any possible legal trouble that
this could mean for Tor. This would be just for Onionoo (and Relay
Search using Onionoo data).

We'll still have to find an alternative for the geoip* files distributed
with Tor itself. I hope that we can use the alternative I have been
working on in the past couple days. Pasting the ticket link once more in
case people want to comment:
