[metrics-team] Questions about unit test NodeDetailsStatusUpdate

Hi all,

After weeks of struggling to set up my development environment, I can
finally start working on ticket #21171.

I have a few questions before I start coding:

Do I need to create mock objects for ReverseDomainNameResolver,
LookupService, Descriptor and other objects?

Do I need to use reflection in order to test private methods and do I even
need to test private methods?

If these questions are inappropriate for this mailing list, please send me
appropriate resources.
