CryptoRave 2020 - Call for Proposals - 7th Edition

From January 20th, will be open the Call for Proposals for the the
world's largest, free, and open security and privacy event, CryptoRave.
This edition will take place on May 15th and 16th, in São Paulo, Brazil.

We accept proposals for lectures, debates, workshops, games, hands-on
activities, and FLOSS projects (free / libre / open software / source).
Proposals for artistic performances, installations, film screenings and
pocket shows are very welcome. DJs are essential and can also submit to
play at the party, as in previous editions, at the end of the event. We
also encourage the submission of innovative proposals, that are not
described above. However the topics for proposals must be about freedom,
security, privacy and encryption on the Web.

To submit an activity for CryptoRave 2020, create an account on this
website and create an event. Filling in with personal data such as
first name, last name, and gender is optional - we value privacy. A
valid email allowing communication is enough to validate your activity
submission ;)

Activity information should be completed in as much detail as possible.
It's important to have information to capture your proposal's essence.
If the proposition would be performed by more than one person, for
example for a collective or organization, read the instructions below.

Submittions are open until March 09th, at midnight, Brasília time.
Please do not leave for the last minute!

In case your activity is accepted, CryptoRave team will contact you with
a suggested schedule in the event grid. We are managing tons of
activities, please try to be flexible and comprehensive. And, If you
only offer email as primary contact, stay tuned! And be patient as there
are many activities and a small team carefully reviewing each
submission;) 

Please note that hosting an event like CryptoRave - open and free - is
expensive. To make sure your activity and CryptoRave itself happen, let
your community know what we're doing and encourage them to contribute to
our crowdfunding that will be release soon. Responsibility for
publicizing the event and activities is also shared. Mobilize!

THE CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION PROPOSALS ARE:
- Topics must be related to privacy, security, and encryption;
- Diversity;
- Innovation of the proposal;
- Proposal timeliness.

DIVERSITY
In order to ensure and promote diversity of gender, territory, social
class and race, CryptoRave maintains a Code of Conduct and keeps a firm
commitment to ensure a receptive and safe environment for women, black
people, LGBTQIA+ people, and oppressed and / or marginalized social
groups.

The Ada Lovelace space is dedicated to presenting activities relating to
gender, security, privacy, and encryption issues.

SUGGESTED THEMES AND TOPICS FOR THE SESSIONS:
- Analysis of the latest major data leaks, their impacts, and how to
  protect yourself;
- Review of relevant system and program vulnerabilities;
- Surveillance Capitalism;
- Algorithmic Discrimination;
- Encryption: from basic to advanced. Theory and implementations;
- Security for activists and human rights defenders;
- Protection for citizens and consumers in the information age;
- Right to privacy, anonymity and freedom of expression;
- Gender and privacy: diversity in digital security;
- Complaints and review of violations of the right to privacy and
  freedom of expression;
- Complaints and analysis of how governments violate privacy: espionage
  and surveillance in Brazil and around the world;
- Regulation and impact on privacy and freedom on the Web;
- Offensive (counter) experience: hacking, hacking, hacking, fuzzing,
  exploits, and offensive security;
- Security and/or vulnerabilities in hardware, encryption devices and
  open hardware;
- Cyberwar and cyberactivism on the net;
- Hardening of operating systems;
- Computational sovereignty, decentralization and network federation;
- Political dissidents, whistleblowers and information leaks -
  technological and ethical systems;
- Government electronic systems and vulnerabilities.


VOLUNTEERING
The opening of volunteer applications during the event - a noble and
fundamental activity we are very proud to count on - will be on March
10th, 2020.


GROUP PROPOSAL REGISTRATION
If your proposal is collective (more than one person), you must create
individual profiles and add each participant to the activity you
created. Once you submit the activity, you can change and add
participants. For an organization proposal, you must create an
organization profile to manage the activity.

ATTENTION, IMPORTANT!
Proposals will not be accepted by any other CryptoRave communication
channel such as Twitter, Facebook, Telegram or Email. 

There is no financial compensation for approved activities. Proposals
involving merchandising will not be accepted. Unfortunately we cannot
afford to pay for travel costs. 

We are committed to providing adequate infrastructure and seeking
materials essential to the activity, but do not overdo it! We operate on
crowdfunding and volunteer work basis, so keep this in mind when
indicating the materials and equipment necessary for the execution of
your activity.

Convocatoria de Propuestas de Actividades para CryptoRave 2020 - 7
edición

A partir de 20 de enero estará abierta la convocatoria para actividades
del evento de seguridad y privacidad abierto y gratuito más grande del
mundo, CryptoRave.

Esta edición se sucederá días 15 y 16 de mayo, en São Paulo. Se reciben
propuestas de charlas, debates, talleres, juegos, actividades de
producción y proyectos FLOSS (free/libre/open software/source) para
colaboración. 

Propuestas de presentación artística, instalación, exhibición de
película, y pocket shows también son bienvenidas.

DJs ya pueden subscribir para presentarse en la fiesta que sucede, como
en las últimas ediciones, al final del encuentro. 

También vamos a revisar propuestas innovadoras que sean en los temas de
libertad, seguridad, privacidad y criptografía en la red.

Para submeter una actividad en la CryptoRave 2020, debes crear una
cuenta en este sitio web y enviar su propuesta. Llenar tus datos
personales como nombre, apellido y sexo es opcional - cuidamos a la
privacidad. Un correo electrónico válido es suficiente para submeter uma
comunicarnos contigo. ;)

Las informaciones de la actividad deben ser al detalle para que tu
propuesta sea mejor entendida. 

Si la actividad tiene más de una persona realizadora o una organización
como responsable, por favor lea las instrucciones abajo.

La convocatoria termina el 9 de marzo, a las 11:59pm (GMT +3). No dejes
para el último momento!

En caso tu actividad es aceptada, el equipo de CryptoRave te contactará
con una sugerencia de fecha y hora para el cronograma. Entienda que
estamos manejando un volumen muy grande de actividades, así que te
pedimos flexibilidad. Si llenaste apenas tu correo, mantenga atención! Y
tenga paciencia una vez que son demasiadas actividades para un equipo
tan corto analisar ;)

Producir un evento como CryptoRave - abierto y gratuito - es costoso.
Para garantizar que tu actividad y CryptoRave sucedan, llama a tu

VOLUNTARIADO
Las suscripciones para trabajo voluntario en el evento - una actividad
fundamental con la que tenemos orgullo de compartir - empiezan el 10 d
marzo de 2020.

SUSCRIPCIÓN DE PROPUESTA

Propuesta individual: Crear perfil individual y la actividad relacionada

Propuesta colectiva (2 o más personas): Es necesario que se críen
perfiles para cada participante en la actividad. Después de enviar tu
actividad, es posible editar y sumar participantee.

Propuesta en nombre de una organización (colectivo, instituto, red etc):
Es necesario crear un perfil de la organización para atribuir la
actividad.

¡ATENCIÓN, IMPORTANTE!
No son aceptadas propuestas por otros canales de CryptoRave, cómo
Twitter, Facebook, Telegram o e-mail.

No hay recompensa financiera por actividades aprobadas y no son
aceptadas propuestas cob merchandising. Desafortunadamente no hay
recursos para financiar costos de traslado para el evento.

Nuestro compromiso es ofrecer estrutura adecuada y buscar materiales
esenciales para la actividad, pero ¡sin exageros! trabajamos con
financiamiento colectivo y con trabajo voluntario, piense en eso cuando
indicar tus necesidades de tu actividad.
