Hej,

Is your relay at home?  Is your relay in your country?
The exits which I have in Germany are the fastest and are no worry at all especially because I am far away.
There have been 5,000 relays and exits each day for some time yet there has been not one real legal problem, to my knowledge.
People running exits from time to time get letters from paper tigers representing USA corporations.  At first I wrote careful argument back but having received not one reply I don't waste time on that any more.
The virtual private server businesses have sometimes banned Tor immediately which I take as just one of the costs and move on to another.
It is a significant point that all that passes through your relay is encrypted and none is retained so how could you be culpable of anything?

Hi list,

I have set up a tor relay with no exit functionality yet. Having read
through the documentation and general legal hints, I am still unsure
of the legal situation in Germany. Are there some of you guys who
had contact with hosting providers because of abuse claims?
Is there anything you can share? Are pure relays safe to use or
are the hosting providers still clueless?

Thanks and best regards.
