Thank you for testing! It looks like tor-fw-helper doesn't work for you. What do you see in the flashproxy-client.log? (Command-click on the application icon, and choose "Show Package Contents".)
The Tor Log: 2/9/14, 21:38:30.395 [NOTICE] Opening Socks listener on 127.0.0.1:9150 2/9/14, 21:38:30.395 [WARN] Pluggable transport proxy (obfs2,obfs3 exec PluggableTransports/obfsproxy.bin managed) does not provide any needed transports and will not be launched. 2/9/14, 21:38:32.859 [NOTICE] Bootstrapped 5%: Connecting to directory server. 2/9/14, 21:38:32.859 [NOTICE] Bootstrapped 10%: Finishing handshake with directory server.
This is what I would expect to see if tor-fw-helper didn't work. Your computer was not able to receive a connection from a flash proxy, so it couldn't get past 10%.
Launches but gets stuck “Finishing handshake with directory server”. Only outbound connects to t2.gstatic.com and google.com?
The outbound connections are the rendezvous mechanism. https://gitweb.torproject.org/flashproxy.git/blob/HEAD:/flashproxy-reg-appsp... In the flash proxy system, your computer needs to tell the facilitator that it needs service. We found a way to do it that looks like you are doing a Google search, more or less.
