It also sounds like more recent dbus/ibus will fix it, though you seemed to have a conflicting experience to dcf's in the ticket, where the same dbus/ibus did not work on your live system?

Upgrading ibus changed nothing. Upgrading dbus prevented further login. I might be able to spend a little more time on this but no promises. -- Lunar <lunar@torproject.org>
