Hello, I would like to add a new Tor Project mirror hosted in Germany. CSV entry: 301@seo-manager.info,SEO NW - Alexander Müller,DE,Germany,DE,TRUE,TRUE,No,http://tor.seo-manager.info/,https://tor.seo-manager.info/,,,http://tor.seo-...,,, Mirror details: - Location: Germany - IPv4: Yes - IPv6: Yes - HTTPS: Yes - Sync frequency: Every 6 hours - Upstream: rsync.torproject.org - No CDN Status page: https://tor.seo-manager.info/stats/ Best regards, Alexander Müller SEO NW
Hello everyone, First, I would like to apologize for my previous message where I mistakenly referred to this as an "official mirror" - that was incorrect and I should have been more careful with my wording. I am applying to become an official mirror, it is not one yet. I will correct this on the /stats Page. I would like to offer a new Tor Project mirror hosted in Germany. About me: I run a small web hosting and SEO consultancy (SEO NW) in Germany. This mirror is not a commercial project - I simply want to give something back to the open source community. I already operate a Linux Mint mirror (mirror-mint.seo-manager.info) which is currently pending approval, and would like to support the Tor Project as well. Mirror details: - Location: Germany - IPv4: Yes - IPv6: Yes - HTTPS: Yes - Sync frequency: Every 6 hours - Upstream: rsync.torproject.org - Bandwidth: ~1.7 Gbit/s - No CDN - No IP logging Status page: https://tor.seo-manager.info/stats/ Thank you for considering my application. Best regards, Alexander Müller SEO NW Germany
Hi Alexander, Thank you for your interest in hosting a Tor Project mirror with Serverion. To proceed and ensure we can meet the requirements, could you please provide the following details: 1. *Expected Bandwidth Requirements* – Average and peak traffic expected for the mirror. 2. *Disk Space Requirements* – Total storage needed for the Tor repository. 3. *Preferred Server Type* – Physical server, VPS, or dedicated hosting. 4. *Operating System Preference* – Linux distribution and version you plan to use. 5. *IPv4/IPv6 Requirements* – Number of IP addresses needed for the mirror. 6. *SSL/HTTPS* – Will you provide the SSL certificate or need Serverion assistance? 7. *Sync Frequency* – How often the mirror should sync with the upstream Tor repository. 8. *Additional Services* – Any monitoring, status page, or other requirements. 9. *Security & Compliance* – Any special configuration or no-logging policies to enforce. Hi Team Serverion, Thank you for reaching out, but I think there might be a misunderstanding. The mirror is already set up and running on my own infrastructure at tor.seo-manager.info. I was not looking for hosting services – my message to the tor-mirrors mailing list was an application to be added to the official Tor Project mirror list. I appreciate your offer, but I don't need any hosting services at this time. Best regards, Alexander Müller

Hi all, It's worse than that -- Tor hasn't used this third-party mirror infrastructure in some years now. Background: we used to use volunteer-offered mirrors for users who were censored or otherwise needed a version of the Tor site they could reach. But that idea proved complicated because what they really needed is a copy of the Tor site that they can reach and that we can trust enough. So the summary is that there isn't any place to add any of these mirrors to at this point. You will have much more impact contributing a bridge or a relay. If you like web servers, consider running a webtunnel bridge. Thanks! --Roger
Hi Roger, Thank you for the clarification about the mirror infrastructure! The mirror will stay online as an unofficial resource, and I'll set up a WebTunnel bridge today to contribute more effectively to the network. Best regards, Alexander
Hi Roger, Thank you for the clarification about the mirror infrastructure! The mirror will stay online as an unofficial resource for anyone who finds it useful. Following your suggestion, I've set up a WebTunnel bridge today - it's now online and running: - Nickname: CloudRelay42 - Bandwidth: 500 Mbit/s - IPv4 + IPv6 enabled Happy to contribute to the network! Best regards, Alexander Müller
