OK, then I recommend changing the link destination from SVN to the current git repo at the doc page 'Running a Mirror'.

Do you want to make a new patch using git and send that, or should I adapt your patch to the current version? If so, how would you want to be credited for your work?

You don't need to adapt my patch. Give me a few days, I'll find the time to make a new one. I think, it isn't necessary for a bit of 'work' ;)
