looks good to me. What about a version of the manual which does not need JavaScript? IMO there should be no need to have JavaScript enabled/embedded when reading/having a manual as it basically contains only text and images.

It should downgrade just fine. According to my quick look, JavaScript is used for syntax highlighting, auto-resizing, video playback and animations on expanders and glossary. It should be perfectly readable with JavaScript disabled.
