We use a GeoIP database—*ipfire*—to assign geographic locations to IP addresses. Details about the implementation can be found here: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/network-health/metrics/geoip-data/-/blob/m... Occasionally, issues arise with how locations are assigned. These inaccuracies can occur when IP ranges are transferred between data centers and reassigned to different geographic regions. Some of these issues get solved with the next update. Cheers, -hiro
