 Ok, I replied to your remaining outstanding comments on the 23101 commit
 with fixup commits. Everything is sitting in
 https://oniongit.eu/mikeperry/tor/commits/bug23101-squashed now. If you
 like the fixups, I will squash it all down and open a new merge request
 while we both test with vanguards.py.
