"Uplift bugs" means for me that we have a patch locally and try to get
it into Firefox. It seems there are a bunch of tickets you mentioned
above that do not really fall into this category (e.g. bug 1282826 which
is more a feature request as we did not move to the respective http
library). I guess those are features and you think about closing them as
well?

Yes, I think it is fine for us to keep the patches locally for the
lifetime of Fennec.

Regarding closing of tickets you mentioned above (and in general while
triaging mobile tickets): could someone from Mozilla look over those
tickets before just closing them because they belong to an unused
component now, making sure those tickets that are still an issue in the
new mobile world are recategorized rather than closed?
